It’s nearly twice the size of The White House at 90,000 square feet! It’s a castle fit for a queen! I simply had to tell part-time Las Vegas socialite Jacqueline Siegel that when completed, it will be one of the largest private homes in America.
Jackie is the wife of billionaire Westgate Resorts mogul David Siegel, who has almost completed his own major tower alongside Planet Hollywood at center Strip. The Siegels live in Orlando, Fla., but commute here regularly in their own private jet to oversee their newest timeshare hotel scheduled to open this summer.
Their monstrous East Coast estate includes a full-service health spa with private massage rooms, an indoor roller-skating rink, a two-lane bowling alley, a wine cellar that holds more than 20,000 bottles of wine and a ballroom to comfortably hold 1,000 people for a party. The expansive grounds will accommodate a full-sized baseball diamond and a stadium tennis court to hold 200 spectators. No wonder there’s underground parking for 30 cars, too!

The master bedroom for the two of them measures in at 8,000 square feet -- twice the size of a large home here in the swank, guard-gated communities of Vegas! In total, there are 15 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, six swimming pools, two movie theaters and 11 kitchens!
It will be christened Versailles when completed, and David and Jackie will move in with their eight children and five nannies. All have names that start with a D or a J, and the three boys -- Drew, 5, Daniel 8, and David 9 -- have the same birthday and were all conceived on Labor Day and born on Memorial Day! The couple also has 2-year-old twin girls Jacqueline and Jordan.
The very-much-in-love couple didn’t plan to build such a large house. When I told them it was winding up that way, Jackie, a former model, said they simply set out to build a home for their large family -- but they kept on adding rooms, and it got bigger every time! And don’t think for a minute that the couple inherited money and were born with the proverbial silver spoons. They worked their way up from humble beginnings. David was raised in a one-room apartment in Miami that was so small, his parents hung a sheet to separate the room for privacy.

Jackie is involved in several charities and a Florida beauty pageant. The couple has used their own money for the timeshare business, and their Westgate Foundation has come to the rescue of his employees affected by the economic downturn. They have donated more than $2 million a year to 100 different charities.
David founded his real-estate development company in 1970, and it operates myriad businesses with more than 10,000 U.S. employees. Westgate Resorts has grown into the largest privately held timeshare company in the world and has several resort properties here. By 1997, he had $300 million in sales, and his first Flamingo Bay resort opened in Vegas in 2001. Today, he has more than 400,000 timeshare owners in 28 resorts in 11 states and owns the third-largest timeshare company in the world. He books more than 350,000 vacations a year!
In 2005, he announced the partnership with Planet Hollywood neighbor and Chairman Robert Earl to build the Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate Resorts. His newest and most ambitious project soars 50 stories above the Strip alongside Planet Hollywood. It features 1,200 villas and 28 penthouse suites with a 46th floor private pool and a tropical pool with sandy beach and private cabanas.
The Siegels estimate that it will take another two years of construction before the Versailles is completed.
